Dermaroller treatment induces the body to create its own new collagen.

Collagen induction-Therapy(CIT) works by microneedling the skin using special medical Dermarollers, a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger looking skin. It helps to reduce acne scars and very fine lines, especially good for right under the eyes which can be difficult to treat with other treatments.

TREATMENT DETAILS

The genuine Dermaroller device will be used to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin , the column closes within 2 hours, enabling the skin to recover quickly. A topical anaesthetic is used to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the anaesthetic to work and 30 minutes to do the treatment.

Following treatment, your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface of the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.

It is normally recommended that you take a series of three Dermaroller procedures, one every 6 weeks if the treatment is for reducing facial acne scars. For clients wanting a skin boost, we recommend a Dermaroller treatment every 6 months.

WHAT IS DERMA PEN ?

This is also known as Collagen stimulation and micro-needling.

HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?

Yvonne allows an hour to an hour and a half for a full face treatment.

This gives time for completion of paperwork and a topical anaesthetic to take effect before starting treatment.

WILL THE TREATMENT BE PAINFUL?

A topical anaesthetic numbing cream is applied to the skin for 30 minutes prior to the treatment for your comfort. A tiny prickling sensation may be felt in certain areas but should you experience this, it is very mild.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER DERMA PEN?

Following treatment your skin will look slightly pink and may feel warm. This is normal.

Yvonne will offer various serums for your treated skin, as the micro holes are ideal for transdermal delivery of substances such as stem cells or antioxidants that can enhance the beneficial effects.

Yvonne will remind you not to apply any products to your skin until the following day. The day after treatment your skin may look very slightly pink, but you can apply make up and return to your normal routine.

You may experience some very fine flaking of your skin around day 3.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED A TREATMENT?

This is the “gold standard” treatment for scarring, particularly acne scarring. After the initial treatment one treatment a month is needed for the following 3 to 4 months.

Where Derma Pen is used to stimulate collagen production for facial rejuvenation, Yvonne recommends two treatments a year.

Results do not show until 3 to 4 weeks after treatment.
