Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers
The Dermal Fillers we use are bio-degradable. Hyaluronic Acid in a liquid gel form, in pre filled syringes for injection.
When injected with a very fine needle into the crease line, the gel creates volume under the wrinkles, lifting up and smoothing out lines. As we get older our skin loses moisture, and we see lines and wrinkles develop. Hyaluronic Acid is the substance naturally present in our cells which keeps the skin smooth and supple, along with collagen and elastin. An injection of Hyaluronic Acid can restore skin volume and reduce wrinkles. The gel breaks down naturally over a period of 5 to 12 months.
Dermal fillers treatments
The Dermal fillers we offer are all of non-animal origin, requiring no skin test prior to injection. So it is possible to go ahead immediately in the same session as your consultation. You will see the results instantly.
TREATMENT DETAILS
Each Dermal Filler is priced differently. The price depends on the grade of the filler for the depth of the wrinkle and the amount of gel in the syringe. We always use a topical anaesthetic cream in all cases, even though the syringes contain Lidocaine, which is an anesthetic. The experience, skill and creativity of the injector is vital to achieving the optimum results with minimal discomfort.
Allow 45 minutes for a session of treatment.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Dermal fillers are non-surgical injectable treatments.
Dermal fillers give an instant effect. They are a safe and effective way to lift, sculpt, plump, restore, give definition and symmetry, to achieve a fresh contoured look with exceptional results. They can also boost collagen and elastin production to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by improving the general quality of the skin.
Yvonne only offers Dermal Fillers that are CE certified, and FDA approved.
This guarantees safety. Some are low viscosity for treating very fine lines, and some have high viscosity for contouring and lifting.
The Dermal Fillers offered are made up of Hyaluronic Acid in a gel form, a natural sugar-based substance that keeps skin hydrated and nourished. It is important for the transportation of nutrients and in regulating water balance in the skin and maintaining elasticity.
The soft injectable gel is carefully injected into the skin.
HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT?
Yvonne allows 45 to 60 minutes for an appointment. This is because she applies a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to treatment. This needs to be on the skin for 20 to 30 minutes pre-injection for your comfort.
WILL THE TREATMENT BE PAINFUL?
The Dermal fillers also contain a local anaesthetic called lidocaine for your added comfort. Sometimes a needle is used to inject, and sometimes a blunt- ended cannula. This depends on the site of injection. As a rule you are less likely to bruise when a cannula is used. Yvonne is highly skilled and precise in her technique, and so minimises any discomfort.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?
Redness and swelling are normal after treatment.
Bruising cannot be avoided in some cases, as a sharp needle is being inserted into your skin a number of times.
You may experience some tenderness at the treatment site that can last a few hours to a few days.
You may feel firmness at the site of the injection for up to 2 weeks until the filler has integrated into your tissues.
Yvonne checks and if necessary smooths the area immediately after treatment to make sure no lumps are present. However the patient must avoid massaging it as this can move the filler in an unwanted way.
You should not apply make up for 4 hours after treatment, and take paracetamol if you experience undue tenderness.
HOW LONG WILL THE DERMAL FILLER LAST?
The product manufacturers generally claim an effect for approximately a year. Dermal fillers are biodegradable, which means your body breaks them down over time. Some fillers will last 6 months and some up to 18 months. Where there is a lot of movement in the face, such as the lips with talking and eating, the filler generally does not last so long, especially with your first treatment.
Your body’s individual metabolism also has an effect.
